I’m definitely looking forward to visiting again and trying something new next time. This coffee shop started to support coffee farmers well and also our local community here in Chattanooga. I haven’t had a chance to go inside yet due to current events, but I am excited to when things return back to normal. I’ve had the pleasure of trying a latte from here and must say that they know what they’re doing. Located off of Bonny Oaks Drive near Lee Highway, this coffee shop is a much needed addition to this area. Oaks Coffeehouse is the newest coffee shop addition to Chattanooga. Don’t believe me? Try my favorite “Quiche and a Slice” some time and you’ll see how good it is. And as the name implies, yes, they have an awesome sourdough. Their coffee comes from a Tennessee roaster and their breads are made in house. I love their creative seasonal drinks that always consist of unique flavoring combinations and are never too sweet. They offer walk-in, with limited seating, window walk-up with patio seating, and of course, a drive-thru. You can now have good coffee AND frozen custard at the same time.
Now they’ve joined forces with some of Nana’s old recipes making for the perfect pairings. At first they just did coffee, bread, and light foods. Sourdough Cuppa Joe is a coffee shop that took over the location of the retired Nana’s Frozen Custard. The “Honey (Bee)” Latte is one of my favorites consisting of honey and vanilla for a sweet, yet mild, flavor that allows you to get the coffee taste in too. They have also concocted their own flavor combination coffees named after Chattanooga’s iconic elements. Everything is sourced from other local coffee roasters and bakeries. The building may be tiny, but their coffee and sweet treats are bigger than you’d expect. Sitting in the middle of a shopping plaza in Red Bank is where you’ll find this small coffee drive-thru. (be) caffeinated is a drive-thru only local coffee shop. For those times that you need a quick pick-me-up, I’ve gathered all the drive-thru coffee shops in Chattanooga to make your inconveniences a little more convenient. But sometimes life makes it difficult or simply inconvenient to get that cup of caffeine. Coffee is an important part of most people’s days.
